Welcome to the Hutchinson Fire Department Website
Originated in 1884, we are proudly celebrating our 130th year of dedicated service to the citizens of the Hutchinson Fire District.
The Hutchinson Fire Department is responsible for protecting a 180 square mile fire district with a population of approximately 20,000 citizens. Included in our fire district are the counties of McLeod, Meeker and Renville; the cities of Hutchinson, Cedar Mills, and Biscay; and the rural townships of Acoma, Hassan Valley, Hutchinson, Lynn, Ellsworth, Cedar Mills, Boon Lake, and Collins.
At our core is a highly trained group of thirty dedicated paid-on-call firefighters and one full time Fire Chief. We have an extreme passion for the work we do and we love being a contributing member of our proud community. Some of the services we provide are: fire suppression, rescue, hazardous materials response, emergency medical services, code enforcement/inspections, fire investigations, and fire prevention/education.
Our Values and guiding principles: “Pride, Honor and Integrity”
We are deeply rooted in our history and we realize that the success we enjoy today was made possible by the hard work and dedication of every member that has come before us. We pride ourselves in being very progressive and we are never afraid to try new ideas, equipment and tactics. We learn from every experience, both good and bad, and we make improvements based off of those experiences.
The Hutchinson Fire Department has prospered for 130 years because of the tremendous support we have continually received from the citizens we serve and the city councils and townships that are committed to our success...Thank You!
We are frequently making updates to our website, so please continue to stop by!
