Rezoning Application
Important Points
- Refer to fee schedule at the Planning Department at City Center.
- Application is due the 3rd Friday of the month to be on the next month’s agenda.
- Copy of deed is needed.
- Planning Commission meeting is the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers.
- Planning Commission makes a recommendation to the City Council which meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.
An amendment to Comprehensive Plan Application
Important Points
- Refer to fee schedule at the Planning Department at City Center.
- Application is due the 3rd Friday of the month to be on the next month’s agenda.
- Copy of deed is needed.
- Planning Commission meeting is the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers.
- Planning Commission makes a recommendation to the City Council which meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.
Conditional Use Permit Application
Important Points

- Application is due the 3rd Friday of the month to be on the next month’s agenda.
- Site plan is needed.
- Copy of deed is needed.

Variance Application

- Hardship must be stated on the application.
- Planning Commission makes a recommendation to the City Council which meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.
Lot Split Application
Important Points
- Refer to fee schedule at the Planning Department at City Center.
- Application is due the 3rd Friday of the month to be on the next month’s agenda.
- Assessment search is needed.
- No public hearing is needed.
- Planning Commission meeting is the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers.
- Planning Commission makes a recommendation to the City Council which meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.
- The applicant is responsible for recording the lot split with the County Recorder.
Preliminary Plat Application
Important Points
- Refer to fee schedule at the Planning Department at City Center.
- Application is due the 3rd Friday of the month to be on the next month’s agenda.
- The Preliminary Plat shall meet the standards of design as set forth in Section 153 Subd. Regulation; Hutchinson City Code.
- Utility and grading plans are required.
- Copy of deed is needed.
- Planning Commission meeting is the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers.
- Planning Commission makes a recommendation to the City Council which meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.
Final Plat Application
Important Points

- The Final Plat shall meet the standards of design as set forth in Section 153 Subd. Regulation; Hutchinson City Code.

Vacation of Easements, Streets, or Alleys

- Application is due the 3rd Friday of the month to be on the next month’s agenda.
- Copy of deed is needed.
- The petition is published twice in the official newspaper.
- Planning Commission meeting is the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers.
- Planning Commission makes a recommendation to the City Council which meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.
- The City Council considers the petition, and either rejects the petition or authorizes the vacation by the first reading of an Ordinance.
- The second reading of the Ordinance is signed and is published in the official newspaper.
- A certified copy of the ordinance is forwarded to the McLeod County Recorder for recording
