Vegetation Management Specialist

City of Hutchinson seeks applications to fill a Full Time Vegetation Management Specialist position.  This position is responsible for the care and maintenance of city owned trees and stormwater pond vegetation.  Includes planting, inspecting, removal, trimming, herbicide application.  Provides public education programs and snow removal as needed.  Requires HS Diploma plus 1 year of post-secondary training in related field and 2 years of applicable fieldwork experience.  Ability to operate forestry-related medium/heavy equipment, direct a crew, work independently and have good public relation skills.  Certified Arborist, Class B CDL,  MN Dept of Ag Pesticide Applicator, & Agriculture Tree Inspector licenses or ability to obtain all within one year. The Hutchinson Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) seeks qualified applicants for the position of HRA Technician.  The position reports to the Executive Director, manages home rehab grant & loan programs, and provides clerical support.  Requires secondary education in business, community development, customer service, housing, urban planning, or 1 – 3 years of related work experience. Must have excellent customer service & communication skills, ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public, strong attention-to-detail, organizational skills and program record-keeping ability, and multi-tasking skills and able to work independently, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and database software. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.  32-hour/week position with full benefit package. Starting pay is $14.25 per hour.  Responsible for monitoring the pool, deck and park patrons to maintain a safe aquatic center environment, and providing swimming instruction.  Must be a certrified lifeguard and 15 years of age or older by May 2024.  WSI Instructors must be 16 years of age or older.

Starting pay is $14.00 per hour.  Responsible for park admissions, assisting guests on the lazy river, and monitoring safety and dispatching guests on the top of the water slides.  Must be 15 years of age or older.

Starting pay is $14.00 per hour.  Responsible for preparing and service food and beverages and for providing excellent customer service to the Aquatic Center and/or Roberts Park Guests.  Must be 15 years of age or older.

Starting pay is $16.20 per hour.  Responsible for maintenance work assigned to city parks and recreation areas, involving grounds, facilities and athletic fields.  Must be 18 years of age or older by May 2024.  Work up to 40 hours per week.

These are seasonal positions beginning in May and ending in September, unless otherwise noted.  Scheduled shifts include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.  The Hutchinson Aquatic Center is open 7 days per week.  It is an outdoor facility, requiring work in all types of weather conditions.
