Public Works Maintenance Operator:
The City of Hutchinson seeks applicants to fill two position openings for Maintenance Operator. Duties include street sweeping, street maintenance, grading, patching, cemetery, traffic control, snow/leaf removal, tree removal/trimming, metal work, and building/equipment/grounds maintenance. Serves as the primary operator for the specialty function of facility or utility maintenance. Requires High School Diploma or GED plus 1 year of related experience and Class A Commercial Driver’s License without air brake restriction or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Desire diploma/certificate in technical education program for Public Works operators or related, 1 year experience in construction, municipal Public Works, or equivalent training; understanding of CMMS, inventory management and related software/hardware; ability to carry out oral/written directions, make decisions and work well with City personnel and contractors. Minimum pay rate is $19.92/hour. Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Worker:
The City of Hutchinson seeks applicants for the position of Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Worker. Season is approximately mid-May through mid-November. Duties include pre and post operational equipment inspections, Oakland Cemetery mowing and grounds/facilities maintenance, cleaning and minor maintenance of equipment, cemetery customer service, ensure operational safety, and assist with street maintenance and snow removal, if needed. Operate and maintain front-deck mower, hedge, string trimmers, Bobcat Toolcat with attachments, and other equipment. Requires High School Diploma, ability to read/write and communicate effectively, valid Class D driver’s license, and ability to work independently. Must be at least 18. Desired qualifications include one-year experience, knowledge and ability to use tools and equipment, and maintenance knowledge and experience. Pay range $11.00-$14.31/hour. Starting rate dependent upon qualifications and experience. Seasonal Building Attendant:
The City of Hutchinson seeks qualified applicants to fill two (2) Seasonal Building Attendant positions. Duties: Greets and assists public, opens and closes facility, collects admission, maintains a balanced cash drawer, completes paperwork and reports, enforces policies and rules, sets up/takes down athletic equipment and facility, general cleaning duties, performs litter and snow removal outside of building. Required qualifications: must be 16 years old to operated power-driven machinery, lift 50 lbs., and possess customer service and communication skills. Desired qualifications: customer service experience, ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions, communicate effectively, be flexible, friendly and cooperative, independently initiate and complete work activities. Seasonal Concession Worker
The City of Hutchinson seeks qualified applicants to fill multiple Seasonal Concession Worker positions. Staff will work both the Aquatic Center (June through August) and Roberts Park (May through October). Duties: Responds to customer food and beverage requests, prepares food and beverages, maintain clean and organized area, monitors and restocks inventory, operates cash register, completes daily reports, and minor custodial duties. Desired qualifications: customer service, cash register and food preparation experience, 16 years of age or older. 20-32 hours per week, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
