Hutchinson Lakes/River Basin Study Public Meeting

The City of Hutchinson will be having a Public Meeting on Tuesday, February 6th starting at 6:30 pm at City Center, 111 Hassan Street SE, to review the final draft of the Hutchinson Lakes/River Basin Improvement Study.  This step in the overall study development will allow for public input prior to the study being finalized and brought to the City Council for your approval at a future meeting.

The Study is available at Hutchinson City Center and information about the study will be available for review at the Public Meeting. The Study includes a variety of information collected to assess the status and functionality of the lakes/river basin above the dam, as well as a status of the dam itself. Historical reviews of the original rock riffle dam design and lake depth were made to compare the existing dam and water depth data collected in 2016 and 2017.

People interested in the lakes/river basin, recreational use of these waters, aquatic vegetation and fish, water quality, etc. are encouraged to attend. City staff will be available to answer any questions that you may have about the Study and to receive input.

Thank you!

Kent Exner, DPW/City Engineer
